Red Lobster Hepatitis Lawyer update: Red Lobster employee in Florida tested positive for Hepatitis A.

On Tuesday July 30th, the Pinellas County Health Department and the Division of Hotels and Restaurants conducted a joint inspection after they received a report that an employee from Red Lobster in Largo, FL, tested positive for Hepatitis A. The Red Lobster restaurant in which the employee worked is located in 10500 E Ulmerton Rd, Largo, FL 33771.

In the inspection the state found almost 40 violations at Red Lobster in what is a potential Hepatitis Outbreak. During the inspection the inspectors saw staff handling dirty dishes and then serving fresh food without washing their hands and employees touching ready-to-eat food with their bare hands – one inspector even saw the cook switch from working with raw food to ready-to-eat food without washing his hands. Some of the most severe violation’s included raw tuna being stored with over cooked shrimp and tortillas, a build-up of old food debris and dirt on oven mitts, and food being stored at unsafe temperatures.

According to Red Lobster Hepatitis Lawyer Ron Simon, a national Hepatitis A Lawyer, Hepatitis A can be spread by consuming food prepared by an infected person who recently used the bathroom and failed to wash his or her hands. Careful dedication to sanitation and hygiene, such as properly washing hands with soap and water, reduces the likelihood of transferring Hepatitis A.

Ron Simon advises everyone older than the age of one to get vaccinated as a way to prevent HAV infection, and to do so quickly if they recently ate at the Red Lobster in Largo, Florida.  Florida Surgeon General Dr. Scott Rivkees declared a Public Health Emergency over the state’s Hepatitis A epidemic, and free vaccines are being offered to Tampa Bay residents.

If you or somebody you love has contracted the viral HAV infection, contact a qualified Hepatitis A lawyer as soon as you are able. You may be entitled to compensation for your injuries. Ron Simon has helped thousands of clients across the nation recover over $700,000,000 in damages.
