Nuts ‘N More Listeria Lawyer Update: Peanut Spread Recalled Due to Listeria Risks.

The company Nuts ‘N More of East Providence, RI, issued a recall on jars of their Peanut Spread on February 7, 2020. The recall affected 4,143 jars of the company’s Plain Peanut Spread products, which were discovered to be potentially contaminated with

Listeria species

. The potential contamination was discovered during a routine product testing performed by a third-party laboratory. According to the

Food and Drug Administration

(FDA), the company has momentarily ceased the production and distribution of its product while the State of Rhode Island continues its investigation on the incident.

NUTS ‘N MORE LLC., distributed its peanut products to retailers in VA, AZ, MA, RI, ME, AL, IN and, FL. The company also distributed potentially contaminated products to Canada and the UK. NUTS ‘N MORE has stated that the products affected by the recall are the “Nuts ‘N More – Plain Peanut Spread” they are sold in 16 oz. plastic jars, with the LOT number PB91, and Expiration date of 03/04/2021. As of the date of the recall announcement no illnesses have been reported as linked to the peanut products.
